Write for us
We welcome thoughtful pitches about leisure and recreation that give readers a clear question, a distinct point of view, and something they can use or consider.
What we welcome
Pitch evergreen stories about choosing pastimes, arranging free time, shared recreation, seasonal leisure, or the role of rest. Strong ideas have a defined reader and a clear central point. We are interested in explanatory, comparative, historical, myth-checking, and occasion-specific pieces that do not repeat the same advice.
What to include
Send a short summary of the proposed piece, its main idea, why it suits Lively Leisure Journal, and a brief note about your relevant experience or approach. Say whether the proposal has been sent elsewhere. A pitch is not a guarantee of publication, and we may suggest a different scope.
How to send a pitch
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Please do not send a full draft unless we have requested one. We cannot promise a reply to every proposal.
